You’re staying fit, staying consistent, drinking your water, killing it with your workouts and  seeing results: amazing! But sometimes, when we get into a rhythm, we end up plateauing. Your body is amazing and it will adjust to anything. What was once a challenge becomes a walk in the park in no time. That’s why it’s so important to keep leveling up and shocking the system. Kick it up a notch by exploring new workouts. This teaches our muscles new movements and makes us stronger.

Beyond shocking our system, in 2022, we are focusing more and more on overall wellness, with fitness being just a part of it. That’s why we’re seeing classes that incorporate more than just the physical and add in mental wellness elements. Whichever is your priority, there’s something for everyone. So if you’re looking for a challenge and something new and fun to try, here are some trendy new fitness classes to switch up that routine!

Barre

One of them is Barre, a workout that is based on the fundamental movements of ballet and also uses the traditional barre found in ballet dance rooms. It utilizes small movements that help tone your muscles but still ends up being a full-body workout. This class often gets underestimated, but trust and believe, it will be a serious challenge, especially for first timers! Dress for an active session, just like any yoga class - comfortable yoga leggings and a matching sports bra. Bring a crop hoodie to throw on after class if you’ll be running errands.

But the intensity of the fast bursts of energy and the impact on the joints can take a toll, especially as we age. Here’s where the new wave of low-intensity classes comes into play.
